ABOUT US

The Practices and Internship Office is coordinated by the Academic Office of the Faculty. It provides support to internal and external users in person, via telephone or virtual in the following aspects:

Assist the students with information related to the requirements of their curriculum for the development of their practice or internship
Guide the procedure corresponding to the necessary documentation to formalize the registrationof the practice or internship.
Provide guidance and support to companies or entities, to formalize the agreement of institutional support for engaging students in practices or internships.
Support the information in the routes for the publication of calls, through the platform of the System of Practices and Internships - SPOPA.
Verify the academic compliance of the students postulated in the calls, regarding the percentage or credits required in the corresponding curriculum.

For companies (public or private) interested in hiring our students in the modality of Practice or Internship, the University has enable the SPOPA Web tool (System of Practices and Internships) to facilitate their search process for student talent

Through this tool, the Company can publish all its offers to the university community and the students interested in the process will post their resume for study, evaluation and selection by the Company.

If the Company decides to hire our students, it must sign an Interinstitutional Support Agreement with the Faculty of Engineering to establish the bases of cooperation for internships or student practices

Below each modality is defined so that the company could determine its required student profile:

Practice

This modality allows students to know for the first time the job context focused on their academic area. The aim is to know the techniques, processes and methods of the company, as well as have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills acquired in their educational process.

Internship

The student will apply methods of research, evaluation and analysis to specific situations in the Company. The objective is to present a diagnosis of the study carried out and, at the same time, prove suggestions for improvement or solution of those situations.

FOR FORMALIZING THE AGREEMENT

To start the process, the updated Chamber of Commerce Certificate (less than 90 days) is required.

Download the "Interinstitutional Support Agreement" format to fill in the data highlighted in yellow.
Send it in Word format attaching the Certificate of Existence and Legal Representation, to the mail opp_fibog@unal.edu.co. Once the information has been evaluated, the Office of Internships and Internships will indicate the step to follow.

FOR PUBLISHING CALLS

Register your company in www.spopa.unal.edu.co or directly in this LINK.
Once the user information and password have been received, log in to create your call by entering the required information.
Select the academic program that correspond to the students to whom the call is addressed, registering the information requested in the fields of the form.
Enter the module "Students" to verify applicants and proceed with their evaluation process, citation to tests and / or interview
Define the corresponding choice.

TO HIRE SELECTED STUDENTS

FSigning with the student a contract, agreement of wills or act of execution of activities, that register, within the agreed clauses, the date of beginning and end of the practice or internship, the activities to develop, the schedule, affiliation of ARL and other clauses important for the signatories.

Types of Contract

Learning: It applies only to students hired in the Practice mode.

Agreement of Wills or Act of Execution of Activities: It applies for the modalities of Practice and Internship

Key Information:

The job must cover the semester the student will take; it can start before the academic period and finish after it.
In accordance with article 7, numeral 1 of Decree 933 of 2003, the activities developed by university students as internships that are a prerequisite for obtaining the corresponding degree "do not constitute a learning contract".
According to the provisions of Decree 055 of 2015, Article 4, numeral 2, literal d, the Company must guarantee the affiliation of students to the Occupational Risk System.

Through the development of Internships or Practices, the Faculty of Engineering aims to strengthen the process of initiation in the labor context in its students, through a dynamic participation in their first experience in this field

Besides their professional projection, the student will have the opportunity to apply in the Company their knowledge, abilities and skills acquired through their educational process aiming to enrich their ethical and professional profile for their future performance.

FOR FORMALIZING THE AGREEMENT

Práctica Académica

Como parte de las asignaturas del plan de estudios, ésta actividad permite al estudiante vincularse por primera vez y por un período académico al entorno laboral relacionado con su formación académica, así como acercarse a los procesos, técnicas, métodos y tecnologías propias de la empresa.

Ésta experiencia permite al estudiante aplicar los conocimientos y competencias adquiridas durante su proceso de formación, con miras a enriquecer su formación ética y profesional para su futuro desempeño en la sociedad.

Requisitos

Cumplir con el número de créditos o el porcentaje establecido en el Plan de Estudios de su programa curricular. Para verificar este requisito ingrese a la PÁGINA de su programa académico.

Procedimiento

Antes de finalizar el semestre previo a cursar la práctica, consulte la oferta de convocatorias publicadas en la plataforma SPOPA, ingresando con su usuario y contraseña institucional o establecer contacto con Empresas de su interés para el desarrollo de la práctica.
Verificar en la Oficina de Prácticas y Pasantías la existencia del Convenio de Apoyo Interinstitucional entre la Empresa seleccionada y la Facultad de Ingeniería; de no existir, la oficina brindará la información para el proceso pertinente.
Contar con el aval o acompañamiento de un docente tutor con quien acordará el plan de trabajo y los criterios de evaluación.
Solicitar en la secretaría de su programa curricular (Edif. CADE), la respectiva carta de presentación con destino a la Empresa.
Suscribir un contrato con la Empresa, en el que se establezcan los términos de la práctica: Fecha de inicio y terminación (que cubra el periodo académico), horario, cubrimiento de ARL, etc.
Para solicitar la inscripción de la práctica, entregue en la secretaría curricular del programa (Edif. CADE) un acopia del contrato firmado con la empresa, copia de la afiliación o pago de ARL y el formato de Práctica debidamente diligenciado y firmado.
Esté atento (a) al resultado de su solicitud.

Pasantía Universitaria

Asignatura que forma parte del componente de formación disciplinar en la modalidad de Trabajo de Grado, que permite al estudiante la oportunidad de aplicar durante un periodo académico los métodos de investigación, de evaluación y análisis frente a situaciones específicas en la empresa, con el propósito de presentar un diagnóstico del estudio realizado y a su vez aportar propuestas de mejora o solución de dichas situaciones, abonando de manera significativa su preparación ética y profesional lo que aportará significativamente en el medio social en el cual llegue a desempeñarse.

Requisitos

Cumplir con el número de créditos o el porcentaje establecido en el Plan de Estudios de su programa curricular. Para verificar este requisito ingrese a la PÁGINA de su programa académico

Realizar el proceso de pre-inscripción en la secretaría curricular de su programa (Edif. CADE), entes de culminar la semana catorce (14) del semestre previo al que adelantará la Pasantía (Acuerdo 037 de 2017 del Consejo de Facultad)

Procedimiento

Antes de finalizar el semestre previo a cursar la pasantía, consulte la oferta de convocatorias publicadas en la plataforma SPOPA, ingresando con su usuario y contraseña institucional o establecer contacto con Empresas de su interés para el desarrollo de la práctica.
Verificar en la Oficina de Prácticas y Pasantías la existencia del Convenio de Apoyo Interinstitucional entre la Empresa seleccionada y la Facultad de Ingeniería; de no existir, la oficina brindará la información para el proceso pertinente.
Contar con el aval o acompañamiento de un docente tutor con quien acordará el plan de trabajo y los criterios de evaluación.
Solicitar en la secretaría de su programa curricular (Edif. CADE), la respectiva carta de presentación con destino a la Empresa.

Tenga en cuenta: De conformidad con el artículo 7, numeral 1 del Decreto 933 de 2003, las actividades desarrolladas por los estudiantes universitarios en calidad de Pasantías que sean prerrequisito para la obtención del título correspondiente, “No constituyen contrato de aprendizaje”.

Para solicitar la inscripción de la práctica, entregue en la secretaría curricular del programa (Edif. CADE) un acopia del contrato firmado con la empresa, copia de la afiliación o pago de ARL y el formato de Práctica debidamente diligenciado y firmado.
