MASTER’S DEGREE IN ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING

The Master Program in Electronic Engineering emerges from the academic education and activities of the research groups of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Campus Bogotá It is also a response to problems related to the management of electronic technology in the Colombian industrial sector.

The activities of the Master's program in Electronic Engineering include: the participation or leadership of research projects; the management and realization of research and development (R & D) projects with companies; the education and teaching in the academic area; and the advice of the thesis within the framework of the program. The research groups of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering that would participate in the Master of Electronic Engineering allow us to offer the following lines of deepening:

The Master in Engineering - Electronic Engineering is aimed at professionals in Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering or related areas, with technical-scientific skills who wish to expand their knowledge in areas of Electronic Engineering in order to do research or contribute to the technological development of the country with business creation. The advisory committee of the Master' degree in Electronic Engineering can admit professionals different from the foregoing, as long as they demonstrate basic knowledge in electronics, corresponding to the chosen research line.

The graduated from the Master's degree in Electronic Engineering of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia is a professional who will have the following skills according to the chosen curriculum:

    • Analyze and skillfully propose solutions to problems in specific areas of Electronic Engineering.
    • Direct and participate in research and development projects in electronics considering the new globalized markets of Electronic Engineering.

    • Conceive, design, implement and carry out technological and research procedures of innovation and development with commitment, quality and efficiency.
    • Demonstrate leadership and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • In-depth curriculum:

    • Analyze and skillfully propose solutions to problems in specific areas of Electronic Engineering.
    • Create business for the scientific and technological development of our country that respond to the specific needs of the same.
    • Direct and participate in projects of technological adaptation and developments in electronics taking into account the new globalized markets of Electronic Engineering.
    • Conceive, design, implement and carry out technological procedures of development and innovation and business management with commitment, quality and efficiency.
    • Develop the capacity to create and innovate engineering products and services as an economic and business activity, considering social, ethical and sustainability aspects.
    • Demonstrate leadership and ability to work multidisciplinary teams.

OBJECTIVES

General objective

To develop and promote research and application of knowledge in different areas of electronics so that the participants of the Master's program contribute to the technological advance and the economic and social development of the country.

Specific objectives

The specific educational objectives of the research curriculum are:

  • To promote the scientific and technological development of the country, strengthening the different research lines defined for the master's degree.
  • To promote cooperation projects at the national and international level in the areas of emphasis of the Master's program in order to integrate technological trends at a regional and global level.
  • To strengthen the interaction between the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the companies of the country to have a better knowledge of the current problems of the technological sector and thus contribute with solutions and develoments of the latest technology.

The specific educational objectives of the in.depth study curriculum are:

  • To encourage the creation of business in specific areas of electronics that respond to the needs of our society, by educating professionals that promote the expansion and creation of relevant projects to the country.
  • To educate professionals with competences to formulate solutions to technological problems of our country and also to develop capacities for innovation and adaptation of technologies in the execution of those solutions.
  • To develop an academic, methodological and systemic approach for the solution of particular problems of electric power application.
  • To promote the interaction between the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the companies of the country in order to have a better knowledge of the current situation of the sector at a technological level and thus contribute to the development of the national industry in an efficient manner.
