MASTER’S DEGREE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

The postgraduate programs in Electrical Engineering were created through Agreement No. 42 of 1987 (Master's Degree) of the CSU and Agreement No. 008 of 2002 (doctorate) of the Academic Council.

The history of the postgraduate courses administered by the Department of Electrical Engineering dates back to the beginning of the 70's, when the Colombian electric sector was experiencing a period of accelerated expansion, plants of increasing generating capacity were installed, transmission distances of electric power were increased and the electric interconnection network became larger and more complex. Faced with this situation, the Department of Electrical Engineering detected the need to prepare professionals who could face the new technological challenges and, consequently, the postgraduate program in Analysis of power systems started in 1972.
