MASTER'S DEGREE IN AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

In Colombia despite the urgent need for more research in the agricultural sector in order to improve its competitiveness, there were no postgraduate programmes in agricultural engineering in any of the faculties of the country’s university centres. Therefore, the National University of Colombia through Agreement Number 009 of 2002 emanating from the Academic Council has created the Master’s Program in Agricultural Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering, with the participation of the Institute of Food Science and Technology-ICTA and several faculties of the different National University Headquarters, taking into account the availability and capacity of the teaching staff, the existence of physical infrastructure and the strength to develop the lines of research. The creation of the Master’s Degree responds to the needs of greater research in the agricultural sector, framed in the development plans of the National University of Colombia and the country. The academic and research trajectory of the professors associated with the Master’s Degree Program in Agricultural Engineering and their permanent relationship with universities from different countries, international research organizations and networks, It allows the strengthening of the Curriculum Programme and at the same time the participation of international experts linked to the different universities and organizations.
