FUNCTIONS
The main functions of the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering are the organization, administration and management of curricular programs, teaching, research, specialized consultancy or social projection and the national and international cooperation in them.
The Department is also responsible for planning and managing the necessary physical and financial resources, with the support of higher organizational levels, to ensure the proper functioning of its programs.
The curricular area of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering has a Postgraduate Advisory Committee and an Advisory Committee for each Undergraduate Program for all the academic aspects of each program. The Director of the curricular area, the academic coordinator of the program, the professors, the students and the alumni participate in these committees.
The management of research and specialized consultancy and in general of the administrative part is in charge of the Director of the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering. The Department Director has an Advisory Committee that include the Director of the curricular area and the coordinators or heads of the academic sections in which the Department has been organized.
For the fulfillment of its teaching, research and specialized consultancy functions, the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering has 30 professors of exclusive dedication, 6 full-time professors and 9 lecturer professors for a total of 45 currently tenured professors.
They are assigned to a section of the Department according to their specialty, where they develop all their work of teaching, research and specialized consultancy.
