Marcella Bonazzoli
Tenured researcher at INRIA, the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science
and Technology. Affiliated with the Applied Mathematics Unit at ENSTA, Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Sorbonne Université in Paris (2017-2018) and a doctoral researcher at Université Côte d’Azur in Nice, France (2014-2017). Her research focuses on the numerical analysis and simulation of wave propagation problems, with precise and efficient solvers.

Rongliang Chen
Professor at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he serves as the Deputy Director of the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Exascale Engineering and Scientific Computing. He earned his Ph.D. jointly from the Hunan University and University of Colorado Boulder in 2012. Dr. Chen’s research targets high-performance numerical algorithms and software for large-scale engineering applications.

Juan G. Calvo
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Universidad de Costa Rica and completed his Ph.D. at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. There, he worked under the supervision of Prof. Olof Widlund on domain decomposition methods, with a particular focus on the analysis of irregular subdomains. He subsequently held a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

Luca F. Pavarino
Professor of Numerical Analysis in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pavia.Graduated in Mathematics from the University of Pavia, Italy (1987), and obtained a PhD in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University, USA (1992). His research focuses on scalable numerical methods for PDEs, including domain decomposition methods and parallel iterative solvers, particularly for finite and spectral element discretizations and isogeometric analysis.

Alfio Quarteroni
Olof Widlund Prize
Emeritus Professor at Politecnico di Milano and at EPFL (Lausanne), and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. Founder of MOX at Politecnico di Milano and author of 25 books and more than 450 research papers.. His research covers a wide range of applications, including medicine, earthquake geophysics, environmental science, and aeronautics.

Tommaso Vanzan
Assistant professor with time contract at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He completed his Ph.D. in 2020 with a thesis on domain decomposition methods for multi-physics problems under the supervision of Prof. Martin Gander at the University of Geneva. Afterwards, He spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher in the CSQI Chair led by Prof. Fabio Nobile at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

Marsha J. Berger
American computer scientist specializing in numerical analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and high-performance parallel computing. She is Silver Professor (emeritus) of Computer Science and Mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University, and Group Leader of Modeling and Simulation at the Center for Computational Mathematics of the Flatiron Institute.

Li Luo
Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Macau. He received his Ph.D. in 2017 from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology from 2017 to 2021. Dr. Luo’s research focuses on high-performance scientific computing, with expertise in domain decomposition algorithms on unstructured meshes, and nonlinear and linear preconditioning techniques.

Victorita Dolean
Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology and Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde. Her research focuses on the design and analysis of scalable domain decomposition methods for large-scale PDE problems. She is known for having co-authored a widely used monograph on these methods. Her work spans both the mathematical foundations and high-performance implementation, with particular emphasis on wave propagation and strongly heterogeneous problems.

Yalchin Efendiev
Ewing-Mobil Chair Professor of Computational Science and Professor of Mathematics at Texas A&M University, where he also serves as Director of the Institute for Scientific Computation. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from California Institute of Technology in 1999. His research centers on multiscale modeling, numerical analysis, and high-performance scientific computing, with a particular focus on efficient solvers

Wei Gong
Professor at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009 and subsequently worked as a Humboldt Fellow at the University of Hamburg between 2010 and 2012. Dr. Gong’s research focuses on PDE-constrained optimization, including optimal control, shape and topology optimization, and data assimilation.

Wu Shu-Lin
Professor at Northeast Normal University, is interested in fast iterative methods for solving time-dependent PDEs/ODEs, including waveform relaxation method for ODEs (with the aim of parallelism across sub-systems), Schwarz waveform relaxation algorithm for PDEs (with the aim of parallelism across sub-domains) and several parallel-in-time (PinT) algorithms mainly for PDEs (with aim of parallelism across time intervals).
